Can I use a TomTom One as Sat Nav on my bike rides.

  • Yes, you can. Think they may have even made a handlebar mount for it. But if it's anything like mine, the battery won't last long enough.

  • Er yes I've got a pintle mount for the device on my RockHopper

Basically the Tom Tomk fits into a waterproof casing which still allows you to use the touch screen.

However I only use it when really lost as the battery power isn't that long when unplugged.

Aren't they a bit large to have on your bars?
  • Certainly they look a bit "Bad Taste" on a road bike and probably make you a target for the local neds and cahvs as "you aren't from round the area" if you ride with a Tom Tom.

However on a MTB or hybrid they are okay.

The battery in my Tom Tom for the car is equally pants. I'd not get far without power.

I happily do 100 milers with just some vague place names scribbled on a piece of paper in my pocket. If you want to be flash - put some sellotape over it and loop it round your bars for easy reference.
