Another What Do You Think Of This Bike Thread

It'd be rude to turn down the Cycle2Work voucher offered by Halfords through my employer and since I may well sell the Boardman HT Pro through lack of use (I seem to have become a roadie, cyclepathie, towpathie, greenwayie and green lanie) a CX would fit the bill on many levels.

The bike I want isn't actually released to the market until Dec hence my post asking for a few views

http://www.cube.eu/road/cross-race/cross-race/

RRP is £999 but even with the final purchase my outlay will only be £630, a very fair 37% reduction on a new bike with the payments not attracting any interest.

Even better my LBS have signed up with Halfords and are a Cube dealer so I'll be sized properly and the bike will be set up by them.

Other than the Boardman CX I don't think I can beat it for the money in the CX market, what do you think ?

  • Vey nice. I like that a lot.
  • I think it looks th mutt's, but if I was heading down that route I'd go for a steel frame with discs. Oh, and EA50s can be a right PITA if you get a puncture.

I really like it on many fronts. But, already having a CX bike with cantis, I'd want discs.

Thanks for the replies, voucher on the way, getting measured up tomorrow.

+1. I've got the same brakes as the Cube, too.

Looks the business, though. Very tempting to race.

  • I really like it! looks lovely, have to agree I'd prefer disc's but could live with the cantis no problem at the same time.

    Mmm me likey!

I think I'd rather have discs but that's because I'm scared of canti's. But that's a lovely bike for £630.
