  • You will need something that has an elastic band style fitting.
I have a rear light on my Giro Hex - the Micro LED set from Edinburgh Bike Shop.
It just about fits through the top vent - tight stretch though.

Only used as secondary lights in flash mode though.
The front one is on my handlebars.

(p.s. The Hex is a chunky MTB helmet. I don't know, but the Road Giros may be a little more streamlined.)

  • thats interesting. seen ppl strapping those to their trousers. never though of using them as a helmet solution. hmmm

I got some JML blinkys from Robert Dyers - the red rear fits nicely into the back of my Giro helmet

No where to put the front white one though so its on the Bars.

I was in Lidl yesterday  and noticed their helmets were fitted with integrated flashing lights. Not my cup of tea but I thought it was quite a nifty idea.

The little Smart lights fit on - there is a link to them for a fiver in the bargains thread.

A little tricky - I have one mounted with the strap crossways and the other lengthways. They are pretty neat things.

The rear red led fits perfectly in the back vent of my Giro Atmos , The notch in the rear of the helmet is perfect to access the button and the elastic loop ensures it doesn't fall off ! though i do use a small piece of blu-tack to keep it in place.

Haven't tried them on my Giro but the JML lights are a brilliant fit on my Met Helmet and would recommend them to anyone.

  • I use one of those Topeak Headlux integrated front and back lights, came with a rubbish fabric / velcro strap that wouldn't fit my helmet, but cable ties are wonderful things.

Not mega bright but bright enough to see bike computer by, and (I suspect) makes one much more visible to big wagons. I always worry that most bike lights are too low for those buggers to see.

Does use CR2032s at a rate of a pair a month, but you can get them pretty cheap if you buy in bulk.
  • I have the decathlon version of the knog rubber band jobbies at the front, it was fine on my old helmet, but the new ones vents don't work with it at all

I've had to lay it flat along the top ridge of my helmet and cable tie the body and tail down. Works fine as the body cable tie simply sits in the channel that the rubber band did and doesnt let it move about at all.

its is still as unobtrusive and easy to turn on and off as before
