and gears slipping on my spesh road bike. Any clues what is wrong? Started two hours into a ride on Sunday, was perfect before. I'm pretty useless when it comes to bike maintenance and am loathe to put it into the bike shop again.

Thanks in advance

Pretty new bike at a guess?? I'd suggest cable stretch as the most likely culprit. You'll need to adjust the gears and maybe the high / low stop screws front and rear. This is a job you really ought to learn so have a watch of a few videos on here and youtube.

Plenty of other guides on here also if you have a dig around. What groupset are you using? Fundamentally the adjustment is pretty similar on all gears

A couple of other things to consider. Make sure you're not cross-chaining i.e. large chainring/large sprocket or small chainring/small sprocket - this would cause chain rub. As regards gears 'slipping' - do you mean that the chain is skipping when you put the pressure down on the pedals. If so - you'll probably need to replace chain and cassette. If they haven't been replaced in the 2 years since new - they're most probably worn.
