Thief-deterring tricks

So for the first time ever, this evening I'm going to be locking my bike up where I won't be able to see it for about an hour or so. Not happy about it, but it's unavoidable.

What's the best way of deterring would-be tea leaves?

I'm thinking seatpost out, front wheel off and locked to rear wheel (and frame and whatever solid object it is I'm locking it to), but what other bike security fu can readers recommend.

FWIW, my lock is what's really playing on my mind. It's a Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2, so I'm not massively convinced by it tbh.

Should I risk it?

Lock as much up as you can, take the seatpost out if needs be, maybe even the pedals to make it unrideable if you're that worried. Lock it to something solid, with as little empty space inside the lock as possible.

Well, strictly speaking, it is avoidable in that I can just not go.

But the pedals is a good shout. Cheers.

While that is in theory an excellent idea and sound advice (and I've already read that thread), it's not going to help me in the next 10 minutes unfortunately.
