want to get a light weight short travel fork for XC / trail use. (heard the SID XX and the DT swiss XRR tend to flex too much, not sure if true)
narrow down to:
1) SID ti RLT,
2) FOX 32 float 100mm
3) DT swiss XRC 100mm twin shot
any idea?

All light forks flex to some extent. The top end SIDs and XRR are lighter than the Floar though.
Maybe worth looking at the Reba 2012 - this has shed 100g over previous versions courtesy of lighter innards, but remains a pretty stiff unit:

Travel can be adjusted down to 80 or 100mm. Good price too.0 -
have a fox f100 rl and a sid rlt ti 100, fox in bits at moment needs repairing when i can get round to it
fox is that little bit stiffer and slightly better for doing any xc downhills but taking into account all the different terrain you come across cross country the sid is a better all round fork, its more planted when going uphill, downhills are fine just have to lock the floodgate valve more as the fork is real suppleanthem x with many upgrades0 -
The SID XX is the same as the RLT Ti just with XX MoCo not Black Box, no stiffness difference.
If you use your lockout a lot the hydraulic lockout on the XX is pretty neat, personally though I'd just go for the RLT Ti.0 -
thx guys,
the reba 2012 sounds a good idea
I am keen on the DT Swiss XRC (the all black look just somehow got me), but I cannot find as much review as the popular RockShox & Fox.
Anyone has experience on them?0 -
Shocking reliability. A friend's got the XRC100 Race with the carbon CSU, and they're really really really bad! Shame really, they look good, and they're nice when they work, but have service intervals measured in minutes!0

I've got a 2012 Reba RLT with Poploc, set at 120mm and it's been great. Really plush and good stiffness.
The spacers to drop them down to 80 or 100mm are supplied so you can do that if you need to

Yeah, the DT's are an all out race fork, utterly useless anywhere else! Had a set for 6 months until I binned them. They were also the most flexy forks I have ever ridden, not good!
The Sid's get a good write up, as do the Fox's, as do the Reba's!
Have you considered Magura Durin SL's? Another nice fork, and less than 1300g.
Oh the joys of being spoilt for choice.Custom spec Scott Scale

cheers guys.
I will opt out the Magur Durin SL... if so I will go for SID, right now SID Ti RLT is winning
the XX just have the hydraulic lockout right? any drawback??
Does the DT Swiss XRM behave better than XRC on reliability?0 -
DT seem to have fairly poor reliability across the board, they have however redone them on almost all of their models and that seems to have made it a lot better, still not on a par with Rockshox and Fox though.
The Sid's will be a very good all round fork, they are the ones that I'll probably be going with in the new year if I can't persuade my GF to let me get a Lefty!Custom spec Scott Scale
