i dont know what to think of this? i loved the comics as a kid, but i think they'll F it up?0
-
Hmm, like a compilation album version of superheroes
Should be "visually entertaining" at the very least0 -
About frigging time been watching the extended trailers for years0
-
the films in the run up have been quite good i.e. Iron Man 2 and Thor (havent seen Cap America yet), which makes me think that it could be decent
there's a continuity with Thor as well
Its so hard to tell from the trailer whether its gonna be any good anyway.
The next Batman trailer isnt that great, but we know thats gonna rock.0 -
I hated Thor, Terrible movie?
Liked the iron man films,
Hated the Hulk movies,
Not seen Captain america yet but it looks good from the trailers.
I'm a massive a Batman fan so i'd like the 3rd (and final one) to be awesome. I re watched the first two in my week off0 -
i thought Thor was pretty decent, although the inclusion of Portman may have influenced my enjoyment of it  plus i wasnt expecting to like it
Iron Man 1 - epic
Iron Man 2 - good, but the story was too focused on setting up the Avengers movie
Im a bit sad that this next Batman film will be Nolan's last one TBH. They do the character so much justice that its shame he isnt going to do more. Certainly gave the genre some credibility. That said, maybe best to quit while you're ahead...0 -
Admittedly I liked Iron Man and Thor. Not seen Captain America, but I can't say I enjoyed either of the Hulk movies, they were terrible0
-
Might go to see this out of curiosity.
I was going to see 'The Thing' prequel which was due to open this weekend, but for some reason they've put the UK release date back to early December"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

^ I’m of the same opinion.
I don’t think I’ll ever be much of a fan for Thor or Hulk but Joss Whedon has the opportunity to make their characters more 'attractive' in this film.
Failing that there’s always Scarlett Johansson in a skin tight outfit.DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY0 -
I liked Thor, both iron Man movies, and Captain America (thought that would have been guff but was really surprised).
As for Hulk, the film was very "meh" but remember, it's a different dude as "Hulk" because Edward Norton spat the dummy.
Where I think this film may succeed where others have failed is that the characters have already been established so there won't be an hour of explaining who everyone is and their backstories.Formally known as Coatbridgeguy0 -

Have to say I thought Thor was pure toilet. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

They'll get 5 mins at best (along the lines of "he can shoot arrows and she's got tits"). Then they'll get onto business...hopefullyFormally known as Coatbridgeguy0 -
So, is this NOTHING to do with Emma Peel then?0

So wait, what the hell IS this film about?0
-
not really sure? saving the world, and by world i mean america........................probably?0
-
So, why "Avengers"? I'm confused0
-
-
I have honestly never heard of that before. Cheers for clearing that up.
On looks alone, I have to say, I prefer the British version of the Avengers.0 -

I have now seen captain america, and its really good, totally primed for the avengers movie but was well worth watching.0

Meh, more cartoons, sorry green screen CGI action. They're just plundering all the comic sources for ideas, which are all very derivative and none are as epic as the old days of superhero films (e.g. Superman I & II. Those were the days when the credits took 15 minutes and were a spectacle in themselves! ).
But then it's either that or a remake/reboot/reimagining of an existing film.
A new idea for a film? What's that? Hollywood hasn't got one.0 -
Haven't seen Cap yet but Thor really was rubbish- and not just rubbish but never really got the feel of the comics either I thought. Iron Man's quality though, basically any film can be improved with a bit of Robert Downie Jr being a likable dick.
So I guess it depends which direction they go in but I think it's more likely to suck than not tbh.Uncompromising extremist0 -

a tad harsh me thinks
i reckon we are in a golden age of super hero films. Whilst Supes 1 and 2 are undoutably epic films, the rest of the super hero genre for that time and for some time afterwards was total pants. I cant think of one good film before Raimi's Spiderman.
I do however agree with your comment about remakes. Hollywood does seem to have gotten lazy in the last 10 years.0 -
Burton's Batman flicks, whilst dated a bit now, were cracking films at the time. Less said about the other two sequels the better.
Blade was excellent and came before Spiderman, and X-Men was okay.
Reboots though - hell, even modern films are fair game as Spiderman gets a reboot next year.
Superman gets a reboot also. Should have followed up Superman Returns, which I always thought was a much better film than people made out. Very faithful to the style of the originals, just Lois was crap and it was difficult to live up to Reeve.0 -

Yeah good point on Bats and Blade. Didnt rate X Men films at all. Difficult to do, but the latest one was pretty good i thought.
Totally agree on Superman Returns. I really enjoyed it and its a shame that Routh didnt get a chance to do a more physical role in a follow up.0 -
Thought Captain America was a bit overly long and lost its way, but ok to watch if you're doing it via Lovefilm. Wouldn't mind watching Thor for Miss Portman though!
Would like to watch this movie in the cinema, but who can afford it these days?
Sigh...
@DCR00
Think there are so many remakes around these days because the studios can't take a risk on something that may bomb. So expect several "reboots", "remakes", prequels, sequels and the like. Hell, even Eddie Murphy's being brought in from the cold to put bums in cinema seats by the looks of it!
I miss the days I could go to the cinema, choose what I wanted to watch when I got there and get something worth watching and get change from a tenner for a ticket, a drink and popcorn.0
