Considering buying some SPD shoes as I've been given some spd pedals.

Obviously don't want to spend too much, probably maximum £50, any suggestions?
For Sale:

Do what they're meant to do - no complaints - sizing is spot on

I have a pair of them.

Great for the summer or when riding out with the family on the Camel trail etc, but not suitable for winter, and not the stiffest soles in the world.

I also have a couple pairs of Spesh Carbon Pro's with are absolutely brilliant, they're way above your budget,
but the Specialized BG Sport MTB Shoe are very good for the money and are available near your budget in the sales.

    Ever ridden SPD before?

Worth considering a fair bit and maybe seeing if you can try some out to see if SPD is for you. It's a Marmite thing, some love them, some hate them. Really depends how you get on with them, and also very much on what kind of riding.
  • I started wearing SPD's this summer and am still getting used to them, but all in all they are better (using with the Shimano M647 DX pedals).

I bought a pair of Diadora X Country 2 in the sale from CRC for 50% off (they have went up again since but they always have offers on if you can wait). If you can't wait there are some good deals on Northwave and Shimano shoes on there at the min:

  • I`ve had several shoes both Specialized and Shimano and my Specialized BG Sports are by far the most comfortable.Stood up to use really well too over the 3 years I`ve had them.

A bit over budget but worth it I say. :)

I started using SPDs in the summer and it takes a while to get used to but well worth it in my opinion. I went for Shimano M077s which are very popular and i'm pretty happy with as a functional shoe.
