New Cats Eyes?
Peddle Up!

Riding the BHF Warwickshire ride this morning I noticed that a couple of stretches of road had cats eyes of a design I'd not seen before. Basically they were translucent hemispheres that stood about 3cm above the road. I'm sure they depress if a car runs over them but the one I hit with my front wheel didn't and nearly had me off! :?
Anyone else come across these little blighters?

Yeah, all over the place round here too. (Cheshire, Derbys, Staffs)
I am not sure they do depress like the old style, don't vehicle tyres just deform as they go over them?

Err, just don't ride over the little feckers!
Incidentally we have some really fancy ones on our new road here. They actually light up rather than reflect light back, I think they're solar powered.0 -

Descending downhill, it felt like I was landing a plane on the Krypton Factor.0 -

I've noticed these recently, I kept turning round expecting a car to be behind me. Hope they're better than the ones in our garden, they only last about half an hour at the moment.0 -
They've had the light up ones in Blackfriars tunnel for a while now, given those ones are in a tunnel I'm sure they're not powered by the sun. Great for short tunnels as most cars don't turn their lights on and so don't "see" the cats eyes.FCN3: Titanium Qoroz.0

When a car goes over them, they depress into the road generating some more energy for the charge0
