Replacement frame advice.

My insurance has decided to pay out the full premium of £650 to replace my damaged planet-x sl pro carbon frame. Firstly would it be wrong of me to spend the money on a different frame?

I was just going to buy a new (new logo) planet x frame for £450 and use my existing (old logo) forks with it. About £15 will be spent on getting wheels trued, and then possibly another £80 on having my LBS switch everything to the new frame.

I then started looking at ribble frames, and saw that you could buy a evo pro with fork (albeit with an alloy steerer) for about £330. The two frames are very similar, but I assume for the price the ribble will be of lower quality?

Someone in my club mentioned getting a ti frame, but I'm not sure if I could get one brand new under £650.

My question really is, shall I just stick with the planet x frame (which I really did like), get a cheapo ribble carbon frame and forks, or maybe even consider a higher end alu frame?

edit: a steel frame would be an option, but I plan on getting a cheap old steel road bike soon to use as my commuter.

Most Ribble bikes are fine - I'd put them alongside Planet x myself. Aren' t planet X selling off some cheap Italian frames - Guerotti or sometjing (sorry) - they look nice. Plane t X Ti frames look great to me.

I's start looking around in the sales which stsrt about now.

Ask your LBS too as they may charge you less for the work to be done, if you buy the frameset from them.
