Hi All,

Sorry - it's another help me chose thread!

I'm looking to upgrade my 10 year old Carerra Banshee and am currently looking at the following bikes. I'm mainly considering the Rockhopper and the Apsct, however could easily be swayed towards the Cube or Cannondale

Specialized rockhopper expert:

Scott Aspect 10:

I'll also throw these in as potential options:

Cannondale SL1:

Cube LTD:

I'm gonna pop down to the shop and have a look at them, however it's unlikely I'll be able to do much more than sit on them and have a quick ride round the carpark. So if you've got any opinions on them to help me make my mind up I'd be more than grateful.

I'm a heavy guy ~14stone, so am wondering if the best bet is to go with one of the bikes with the air fork to offer the easiest adjustement for my weight?

The 'hopper is a 29er, the others are 26", so quite different.

you should take a look at the whyte 901 too as there are some good deals around.
  • I`m not sure you`d go wrong with any of those, all similarly specced, if your tall I`d have a look at a 29er, also check out the cube acid and scott scale 70 as well as the whyte there`s lots of good hardtail bikes at this price :D

Thanks for the feedback - it's much apperciated, good spot on the 'hopper - I'd missed that it was a 29er.

I'm swayiong towards the Cube LTD, had a chat with the local bike shop at lunch time - the Cube Acid they've got in stock doesn't have the recon fork that is specced on the Cube website and they're going to get a LTD in over the next couple of weeks, so will hold out until I've had a chance to see that one up close.

    Cheers for the advice :)

Make sure to try any bike that you're interested in as it may sway your decision. I tried both the Cannondale SL 1 and the Cube LTD and went with the Cannondale, purely because it felt like a nicer ride to me when I tried it. Thread here. :)
