just dragging the bike back out. The last time it went away it'd had a p***** and I'd swapped tyres, used my last CO2 to inflate it. That was a while ago.... I can't remember the canister size
Anyone know what weight canister I need to blow up, but not explode a 700 x 23 tube?

12g will do the job (up to 90psi):

16g goes up to 130 PSI, which is too much for my tyres. I guess if you are 110psi man then you could go for 16g and just be careful about not adding the last bit:

I use 16g on 23s and, TBH, there's no way it ever gets it up to 130psi in reality. Somewhere slightly north of 110psi possibly.

Another for the 16g cartridges here. Better to leave a tiny bit over in the cartridge than have to start a 2nd one. I also consider the extra as worthwhile as i generally put a tiny amount in before seating the tyre to help prevent pinching the tube.

Yes - I often think I should keep the tiny bit that's left over at the end (as the pressures equalize in the tyre and cannister) for doing that job. But the weight-weenie in me thinks that I then need to drag that extra few grammes of cartridge around with me until my next puncture and, as I kid myself that will be a long time off, I discard it. I use a micro pump for the pre-inflation and as emergency back-up anyhow.

If thats to me - yep I have a pump too. But if the weathers bad I'd prefer to blast he tyre to pressure and head off. I've also got 3 kids with bikes, its always possible I'd head off without the pump attached..... :?
  • "Track pump" is what you need (as i'm sure you know)

"track pump", tried it. Felt a bit big in the back pocket and the handle hit me on the head as I pedalled....
