Anyone bought one of the Pinarello look- a- likes.
They look nice, and at a fraction of the price, wondered whether it might by worth a whirl..?

unsafe, very low QC & no after service...this applies to the fake pinarellos not the china builds like hong-fu.

there are plenty of options at the fake pina range. ie, caad, canyon slx to name 2 greats.

search for "weightweenies chinarellos" on google, should answer all your questions

I'm sure some are perfectly safe, unfortunately it's probably also fair to say that some aren't (page two of the WW thread). I suspect the %age of lemons on bikes that are rip offs of expensive frames is higher than for companies using common moulds, simply because the frames are made by people looking to cash in on Pinarello's popularity ('that's popular, let's rip it off' isn't as good a motive as 'I want to build the best frame under £400 that I can').

Personally if you want a cheap carbon frame I'd go to Planet X or Ribble and see what they have. Exactly the same thing but with the benefit that you know they have sourced it from a good supplier and guarantee a reasonable level of quality control.
