I am thinking of getting a 2012 XT double crankset. One thing I cannot do without is a powerlink type connector on my chain.

What is the best option to keep the (assumed) shifting improvement of the directional chain but with a powerlink?

    There isn't an option.

SRAM do a 10spd Powerlock but it's not reusable your best bet would be a KMC missing link, there's such thing as a directional link and even if there where I doubt it would make any difference.
  • Yeah - i didn't think there was such a thing as a directional link but, looking at the KMC catalogue, none of their chains claim to be compatible with Shimano 10 speed.

    Makes me a bit unsure...
