Winter tyres, which do you prefer wider tyre on the front and slimmer on the back or vice versa or both back and front the same. And is a 1.95 Panaracer Trailraker to thin to run on the back with a 2.2 on the front

These tyres are cracking in the wet, muddy stuff, and not too slow on harder surfaces or road either. Will be changing from nobby nics to these soon i think.2009 - Giant Trance X3
2011 - Focus Black Forest XT0 -

Except had my old Ignitor on the front for a while after my smash as was doing fairly flat tame smooth trails for a bit that didn't justify the Minion. Going back to Minion though now, and for the big rig I'm not going to mess about with summer or winter tyres.
HT build coming up potentially though and that'll have different tyres. More smooth flat riding style. Not sure if it'll come out in the mud.0 -
I leave my MK 2.4 on the front all year around now.
I switch from a summer rear tyre to a 2.0 Mud X Bonty in Winter. Seems to do the trick0 -
I've always previously ran Highrollers all year round. This year I have a Swampthing to experiment with.0

S works enduro Front Ignitor Rear Nevegal
Trek ssl 9.9 top fuel Front jones x Rear Mud x ( soon to double up the mud x's )
Spesh Rockhopper Front Spesh fast track Rear as front
Last Herb Front Minion Rear High Roller (I think may change to wet scream)
Normally I'd just put the Mud X on any of the bikes I'd take into the peaks at this time of year but have stayed on summery tyres as it's been so dry. The trek I decided to change the rear as the Jones was rubbish as a rear tyre.
The nevegal I'm trying out and seems to be ok and I think putting the minions and rollers on any bike I need to pedal lots is just maddness far to slow with no real world benefits. Ok for DH though.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!
