Just wondering what the best options are.
Im thinking shorts, overshoes, Jersey + jacket.
How do you keep warm if its wet & cold?
Anything im missing?

as long as my feet and back/arse are dry it doesn't bother me!0

As little as you can get away with, less to dry then.0

Overshoes are about the only concession I make - I hate water squelching out of my shoes. Else, exactly the same as when it's dryROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

If it's warm rain, my only concession to the conditions are a peak on the helmet, maybe a buff under the helmet and overshoes.
If it's cold rain then I'll add a long sleeve base layer to the short sleeve jersey or switch to a long sleeve jersey, possibly long fingered gloves and (if it's really cold) bib tights. The jacket only gets used at temperatures close to or below zero, whether it's raining or not.- - - - - - - - - -

Depends on the temperature!
If its warm and raining I'll wear jersey with maybe arm/leg warmers, but if cold, windproof jacket, over shoes and maybe a cap under helmet.
Its more about being warm than not getting wet.0 -
+1 about warm being more important - wind blocking is the key for me but that said waterproof overshoes are a must.0

Overshoes in warm weather rain are a problem though. Feet get too hot, and then get wet through sweating. I have just purchsed some prendas oversocks which I hope will allow a bit more breathability than waterproof overshoes. They are not waterproof themselves of course, but are supposed to offer some degree of protection from the elements.

If you're out for 3+ hours you can't keep dry but you can keep warm. If you can keep your core, hands and feet warm you're generally fine (gloves are probably hardest).
I have 4 different weights of base layer which get me through most of the year. Below about 5 degrees I change to a winter jersey (windproof Pearl Izumi, don't know the type but it's excellent).0 -
Castelli nanoflex shorts, arm warmers and leg warmers if cold and raining.
Really heavy a Prendas waterproof cap, selaskinz gloves and Sportful overshoes.
Snug as a hug in that lot!0 -
Thanks for all the advice, I can see now the importance is on keeping warm and not to worry about geting wet.
I did wonder as if I wear a waterproof jacket I get wet from the inside due to sweat not being able to escape fast enough.
So warm it is, not looking forward to geting used to the water running down the crack of my RS. :shock:0 -
Deffo recommend Castelli's Nanoflex gear... if you shop around online you can get a bargain. I got a pair of their Nanoflex Pave Bib Tights for just over £40 reduced down on PBK due to discounted offers a few months back - RRP was £125.Sunday Best : Cervélo R3 / SRAM Red / 3T / Fulcrum Racing Zero tubeless
Everyday : Cervélo S1 / SRAM Force / 3T / Fulcrum Racing One tubeless
Winter : Kinesis TK2 / SRAM Force / 3T / Fulcrum Racing 3 + full guards...0 -
Was out today and wore: SS jersey with roubaix arm warmers, windproof gilet, bib shorts and knee warmers. I have got a foldup waterproof I keep in my saddle bag but to be honest I tend to boil in it unless its cold and absolutely tipping it down.I care more about being warm than dry and the combination of roubaix arm warmers and my windproof gilet kept me nice and toasty today.0
