Owdo,

I'm looking at a bit of splurge on some really nice kit for winter.
I've wanted some Assos shorts for a while but never really could justify/afford a pair
Anyone had any experience with them? I'm 5'7" and weigh 76Kg, mostly in my legs so am thinking a medium should fit fine.

These are the ones I'm thinking, some favourable reviews...

Also thinking of summat to keep the snow off me over here and been looking at a Gore Bike Wear Oxygen jacket in medium. Anyone had any of the Gore GTX stuff? I've had North Face GTX stuff before for hiking and its been great but never had an Gore...
This is the one I'm looking at

Any thoughts on any of this much appreciated, but please dont bother sending me links to cheaper gear, I cant afford to buy cheap :p

Cheers!

  • I am a Gore Xenon lover, but last year i bought a Gore Tool jacket for winter (yes I know it is designed for MTB), and it was/is fantastic.
Fits just like a Road jacket, and very, very warm. I wore it in minus conditions with only a thin base layer to stop getting sweat all over the inside of the jacket.
With a Xenon long sleeve jersey, and Tool jacket all bases are covered between +15 and -10
