help with seat post size please.

Hi all,

can anyone tell me what size seatpost and clamp are required for the 2008 GT avalanche 1.0?

I thought I had hit the jackpot with the evans site but they just state there is one...

    can you not look on your current one?
    from memory its a 27.2 seat post?

    GT could tell you. Failing that I'd just check it myself on the bike.
    You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
    If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
    If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

    It's not my bike. I'm helping a friend out who had bits stolen from it while it was chained up outside his work.

    I was hoping to go to the local bike shop on my way home to pick up some parts. The seat post will have to wait unless I get lucky on here!

    I just upgraded with a 27.2 post with a 31.8 clamp for my 2007 Avalanche Expert which is the same.
