Hello :D

Just back from a great weekend with fledgling MTB company Mudtrek and wanted to post a positive, good service, review on here as opposed to all the negative 'my bike shops rubbish' etc!

They are based up near Brechfa and are pitching themselves as kind of a ski-chalet for MTBers. Link here http://www.mudtrek.com/

Basically the accomodation is a lovely converted barn, food is included (so you come back from MTBing to a home-cooked meal - and lots of it) and Jay guides the rides. We had ridden Brechfa before, but hadn't done any natural riding in the area before, so for us this was the highlight. It's totally geared to what you want to ride, and he does all the driving etc so you can have a cheeky beer or two on the way home

It's definitely a good notch or two (well, loads actually) up on the usual MTBing accomodation and I have been really impressed. For any non-MTBing partners, it's the kind of place where I could happily spend the weekend MTBing or not. It's run by Nikki and Jay who are obviously passionate about what they are doing, and geniunely nothing was too much trouble.

Anyway, before anyone says it - i'm nothing to do with them, I just thought a bit of recognition for a job well done was deserved!!

  • Just checked that out, depending on wifes schedule next year we may be off to Wales for a bit of sightseeing, and this sounds maybe like the perfect combination for us! Thanks for letting me know of this company!

    No worries :D

I think it would be perfect for that - I was MTBing over the weekend, but it was definitely the kind of place I could have spent the weekend relaxing in instead!
