spent the day jumping some tabletops and nailing berms today (quite pleased with myself about that) 
and my confidence is growing but on a couple of occasions the chain would either come off or jump chaing rings. it was quite frustrating, any issue's with the bike do you think or am i just going to have to grin and bear it ..........for now?

What bike, and what chainset?0

sorry, its a GT avalanche 3.0 disc chainset Suntour XCT-30V2-T2 obviously im pushing this bike limits now as my confidence grows but im not changing my bike until sometime in the new year. so would adding a chainguide and bashring help? without having to spend on a new chainset?0

First of all make sure the front mech is correctly adjusted.
If that fails then a chainguide will help.0 -
