How long are my spokes?

OK, so I snapped a spoke on a ride the other day so obviously it needs replacing. My only problem is I don't know what spoke to buy to replace it with.
It's a 2010 Rockhopper SL Comp, and the only info I can find on the spokes is that they're 2mm (14g) Stainless, but can't find a length. Is it just as simple as measuring one with a ruler and sticking it in, and if so, is it measured from the wide bit after the bent (hub) end all the way to the end of the thread, or is it bend to start of thread or what? Is a few mm going to make a huge amount of difference?
Any help is appreciated.
