The Village store in Mickleham, Surrey has opened a teashop section. It is open weekdays, Saturday and Sunday.
Cyclist and walkers are welcome.
An increasing selection of hot and cold drinks plus cakes/pies is on offer along with a seating area.
It is opposite the church so easy to find and better than the NT cafe on top of Box Hill.
I have no personal interest in this other than it is good to see tea stops opening instead of closing.

Good news but I do like the NT tea shop. Great location as well.

The NT Box Hill tea shop has a very nice selection of homemade cakes, the new one would have to go some way to beat it!

However in the interest of research I shall check it out next time I'm up there....... :D

Eating cakes BEFORE going up the hill cannot be a good idea! I prefere the incentive of a nice slab of cake in reward for getting to the top.
  • The point about eating before the hill is a good one and I suppose eating at the top does give a bit of ballast on the way down.
i have decided to make an effort this autumn and will be linking together Norbury Hill Ranmore and back over Box Hill for a start. Is there a known route to combine all the significant hills such as the above, Leith and Whitedown. I am now where near capable of doing the route but thought it would make a good objective.
