Try SurveyMonkey... people are more likely to fill in online. You will still get a fair few people asking why we should fill in a survey which is your first ever post (happens a lot) but such is life.

Blinkers... I don't use these. I do have front and rear lights which I set to their flashing mode when I ride on the road at night.

No offense, but I went to Salford University and graduated in 1999... ah the good old days of the Pav @ Castle Irwell... anyway I digress.

Even back then they gave all students emails accounts that would be yourname@salford.ac.uk, I'm sure things haven't moved backwards since I left. So why are you using a hotmail adress to do valid university work?

Further, as others suggest above, why not get a software service to collate the responses. Christ, I even used a basic programme and an early webform to get the 480 reponses I used for my dissertation back in 1998.

Sorry, I've had a really bad day at work, but to pick up on one final point, do you 'actually' go to uni, or go you go to school, as you point out.

University tend to regard questionaires as a very poor and lazy way of gathering data. Have you thought about semi structured interviews or maybe a freedom of information request to find out about cycle related injuries from the hospitals and details of accidents from the police/insurers?

Sorry, I have to slightly disagree, but it also then has to be measured by the fact that as the creator of the questionaire you have to ensure you can then measure the results to ensure you can then analyse and discuss within the project/dissertation you are doing. I had 460 respondents for my dissertation, which provided a significant enough population to be able to use as data point. At the time though there was not much research into my subject (Technophobia in relation to gender and age).

However, your point on the ability to access other data to be able to correlate and cross-reference to support/argue anginst hypothesis is more than valid :)
