XC routes / trail centres near Newbury

I am moving to Newbury mid November. Does anyone know of any good XC routes or decent trail centres near by?

I am moving from near Loggon Wolftrax, so anything like that would be spot on!

    Trail Centres - Swinley or there is a small one just off the M4 at Swindon.

    Go west of Newbury to the Wessex downs for general XC and the ridgeway.

    North East and the chilterns have some good XC too.

    I am sure there is other stuff but I dont know well enough - I am sure others will advise.

    I ride in Newbury and there are several routes around. Greenham common and some route south over to Watership down.

    There are a group of us, up to 14 on a good day, who ride Tuesday and Thursday nights and often make trips to Swinley and Wales. See the website here:
