My carbon bike build is being done this week. I got my 54cm frame and forks from carbonzone in china and lbs has my 170mm shimano double compact crank and no setback seatpost waiting for me. My handbuilt mavic wheels with openpro rims and 105 hubs , saddle, shifters and brakes are being transferred over from my trek1000.

Id like reasonably lightweight oversize carbon handlebar and stem to fit , but am looking for products that arent too expensive but get the job done. Any products you would care to recommend ?

Get Alloy. Some carbon bars are heavier than alloy and cost a lot more. Carbon is great for frames but not so good for bars and worse for stems.

Yeah - the cost/weight ratio on bars and stems is definitely in the favour of aluminium.
