Hi,

i'm relatively new here but thought I'd say hi, introduce my self and my bike.

after years of off road biking I'm getting back in to my road riding.

cheap bike off ebay was rubbish and so uncomfortable, so I thought about getting my rusting old race bike resprayed. It had been in the garage since I stopped racing in 1995.

resprayed by woodrup in leeds and built up with bits from ebay and the spares box.

first long ride yesterday and it is so comfortable, but it took awhile to get used to the geometry, it's a bit twitchy.

any hoo

That is a picture, really nice, cannot fault it. Looks like a proper job on the re-paint as well lug work detailing is spot on.

I see your using Cruds, if you haven't already done so mibbes tape the contact points for the stays, itd be a shame to mark that.

Also, re the forks, are you using an no thread head converter?

  • Lovely, lovely looking bike! All of that beautiful lug work reminds me of my old man's Dawes Galaxy from the late 80's...
  • SuperG, good tip on taping up thanks, and yes using a converter as it give more options on stems / bars

  • Cheers ascurrell. Projects can be fun, and acheap way to get a better bike if you can wait for the right price :)

    Very nice job.

The matching rug is a bit excessive though.
