Can I use standard seat pin in brompton?

hi

Anyone used a standard seat pin for a brompton extension?(assuming I can find correct diameter)

I'd like to swap around saddles.

    The Brompton seat pin is very non-standard, both in length and diameter.
    You can still put any saddle on the top of it using the clamp
    Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

    Thanks. The little extension piece seems identical to a normal seat post. Do you think there are any special features which would stop me replacing it with a lighter one? I don't carry it much.
