Aldi gear sizing

Is it just me or has Aldi really sized up it's cycling gear.
I bought a winter jacket a couple of years ago, size XL fits prefectly. Tried on a winter jacket today, size XL drowns me. Even the large seems too big.
I'm now trying to decide whether to keep the large mens jersey which seems kinda loose or go for a smaller size which, going by the size guide could be way too small.

I got some S/M leg warmers as they fit better than the L. I do not have remotely small legs!0 -
there probably US sizing they always tend to be one size smaller than i take in uk and about 2 if race cut.Commuter: Forme Vision Red/Black FCN 4

Talking of sizes, I just popped into Catford Aldis to see what the shoes were like but they didn't have them in my size (11 or 11 1/2 depending on width). I wonder whether anybody noticed any of the larger sizes in their local London Aldi...
EDIT: I just noticed that they're only listing sizes 8 - 10 on the website so cancel that...0 -
Update, if anything the small is still a little bit on the baggy side 8)

Some weird stuff:
Normally I find XL is too skinny for me in bike stuff and my stomach bulges in an unsightly way at the front, my arms and thights cant move. Some brands are OK and some do XXL or even XXXL (Decathlon) and often I need them.
Have lost a stone in weight over the last 2 months, so finding some of my stuff which was borderline now fits fine - butthe ALDI stuff:
Soft Shell - wow the XL is maaassssiiiivvveee, the large is still a little baggy but very short in the arms and body. The arms are OK if I dont want the extended cuff covering part of my hand with the thumb through the look as intended ,but even then only just.
Leg Warmers - good fit, I was amazed, really didnt think I would be able to get these on. Before now, I have been unable to buy cycling shorts or use inners with a gripper because they are too tight. And this was labelled L/XL so anyone normally a Large will have no chance of them staying up.
Arm Warmers - one side fits perfect, the other side slips down. I have noticed lately that my right arm is alot bigger than the left and this is why - but I actually find myself thinking about going back for a Medium size tonght...!
Havent tried the rest yet.0 -

I picked up some Large cycling trousers and they're baggy! Says waist 34-36 which is correct for me.
The merino top in large was too big too (41 chest and sizing is 42-44) , shame they didn't have any in medium.
Going back to exchange the trousers and see if I can pickup any Merino shirts, at £15 they look like v good value.
Am happy with the arm warmers (S/M), socks and the gloves are incredible value at £5. I was £60 lighter but have the basics in place for the winter months.

sizing is way weird went in today medium base lay was okay but a couple of inches short in the arms and the coat i had to get a small and it still feels big (5'11 and 12stone 33inch waist)
basically just try it all on first is all i can say.Commuter: Forme Vision Red/Black FCN 4

Aldi are from Germany. And though they have a large presence here, they have a larger presence in their home country.
Germans on average are taller and larger than Britons.0
