You should be, that's great my, annual target is only 3000!0 -
I set a target of 5000 and then decided it'd be a good idea to cycle to Paris so did a bit of training and then it all escalated from there!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

Well done! I had a target of 4000 last year which ended up as 10,000! You should be on target for that as well.Faster than a tent.......0

Well done indeed. Not sure what my total is for this year but I'd be surprised if it's much more than 1000 lame miles. Giving up the full commute has really hammered my milage, but I'm alot better off and thinner so there you go.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Awesome!
I've done just over 1500 miles since April & I was chuffed with that, but 7500 is amazing!0 -
I appear to already have logged 3000miles more than last year at this time0

That's incredible!
What equipment have you had to replace in that time? How many off's have you had in that time too?My commute:0 -

Well done - is that commuting only or weekend rides as well?
Am strangely proud of 850 since logging re-started in May
PS My commute is relatively short - 5.1 miles each way.0 -

That's still 3 tankfuls of petrol you haven't used.0 -

What happened in the serious off?
Having had time to piece it all together now, I'm fairly sure this is what happened....
Approaching a mini roundabout from the outside, I check that that there is nothing coming on to the roundabout from directly in front, (which would mean giving way) and pull in behind a car at the front waiting to go.
I still don't recall seeing the car coming onto the roundabout from the Left and if I did see it, then I must have assumed it was turning right i.e. 90 degrees round the roundabout and so would probably still have done the same.
As I pull in behind the car (maybe 5mph) I look behind to check what traffic behind me is doing, look back and the car in front has now slammed on the brakes; unfortunately I'm now too close and hit the back of it.
Result;
me: front teeth very badly chipped, one pulled out of it's socket. Slight concussion (no helmet), lacerations around the left eye and on the bridge of the nose (didn't break it but it was close. 4 stitches to the chin and a lovely black eye.
bike: bent forks and frame twisted
The reason the car in front had slammed on the brakes, was because the car entering the roundabout had done a 180 turn around the roundabout. I never saw this or anticipated it, so I'm now a little more careful.0 -
I've got a 2010 Specialized Secteur Comp, at the risk of jinxing everything, I havent had to replace anything except for a set of tyres and the odd inner tube!
Had 6 punctures
One off, it was in France too, had to have an X-Ray and I dont speak French and they didnt speak English so made for an interesting hour or two! I did try explaining that the seat was wet because I was cycling in the rain and not that I had wet myself but that was very difficult to act out shirades style so I gave up!! They recommended I should wear a sling for 2 weeks, I had one day off then back on the bike, it was part of a charity cycle so felt I had to really!!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
