EC34 vs EC44

Whilst looking at adjustable headsets (Works Components), I've come across a standard or something I've not heard of before. The 1 1/8 headsets are available in EC34 (33.95mm internal diameter) or EC44 (44mm internal diameter). But I can't see a mention of this on the manufacturer website - and I've never seen it in any spec sheet. So, Ellsworth Moment - any advice? Cheers.

EC34 is for conventional 1 1/8" external cup headsets. EC44 is for 1 1/8" zero stack headtubes wanting to run 1.5" tapered steerers with and external cup headset

You'd go for EC34
