I keep getting chain rub, when in the large front ring and smallest rear rings, ie the hardest gears to pedal in.
should I not be able to use the last 3 gears, can anyone show me on this bike in pictures or video what to adjust to cure this problem, its only minor but I can feel and just about hear it rubbing.
Oh and the front right hand side shifter broke after 2 weeks...been replaced by halfords

I assume you mean it is running on the front derailleur?
Is it at the limit of its outwards travel? If so you need to adjust the limit screw.
http://sheldonbrown.com/derailer-adjustment.htmlYou only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

Have a look at this thread... pretty much the same question, and the same answer! Yes you should be able to use these combinations - only big-big (F-R) and small-small (F-R) should rub if at all, and these should be avoided as the chainline is all wonky.
