Hi, hope somebody can help. This is my first post so please go easy on me .
Ive just bought my first mountain bike which is a Giant trance x4 2011. I seem to have a problem when applying the brakes, both front and back. When I apply the brakes and rock the bike back and forward the bike gives off a prity load click.
The pads do move in the caliper a bit so it looks like this is the problem. Is it normal for the bike to give off this sound when braking ?. The front wheel isnt that loud of a click but the back is prity bad.
Ive checked that the disc and caliper are tight and searched the web for half a day on a answer, so you guys are my last hope .

So doesn't happen when the bike is stationary? Could be the pads moving in the caliper. Take them out and refit them.0

Yes it happens when the bike is stationary too and yes it seems like it is the pads moving in the caliper. But I wouldnt have thought the noise its creating is normal.
The bike is only 2 days old. I could try refitting the pads. Has anyone else had this problem with a brand new trance x4 model ?.0 -

Refitted the front pads and still the same problem. The brakes are Shimano M445 hydraulic discs, 180/160mm rotors0

If its 2 days old - take it back to the shop to get it checked.0

Take it back. It's not normal and brakes are a safety critical item.0
