1 - where is the cheapest place to buy inner tubes? Definitely not my LBS - £6/pop

2 - I want to buy GP4000s for my daily bike. Commuting/ 2 LONG upcoming tours (190 on 1/2 and 450 S->N of Ireland).

The guy at the LBS said 'gp4000s for commute are for those with more money than sense'.

What a pr!ck. They wouldn't even let me change my tyre in there. and made me do it in the street.

    Surely people buy inner tubes here - theres only SO many patches a tube will support!

    1. My LBS, £10 for 3 Spesh ones :wink: . Just shop around online if your LBS are flogging them for £6.

    2. The guy at your LBS is right, in a way. The gp4000s is a race tyre, but I use them for training, enjoyment, audaxes, sportives...and because I can afford it. Many others do too so I am not sure about the "more money than sense" thing, just more a case of different priorities in life (oh, and disposable cash). If you are doing a mundane commute, with paniers, baggy kit and just pacing to work between the red lights in cycle lanes with dogsh!t, parked cars and broken glass then ride on something durable, cheap and puncture proof (all of which excludes the gp4000s).
