Just wanting to know what you guys think about travel on xc forks. I have rock shox tora 302 SLs which have 100mm travel.
I feel they're enough to handle the trails I ride, a mate of mine has 140mm Fox forks on his hardtail. Does that seem like overkill for xc??
I know personal taste comes into it, but is there a limit till they become impractical?

140mm is for a more hardcore hardtail. 100mm is enough for an xc bike but if you want to have more fun on the trails without going too hardcore then about 120mm is a good middle ground. Generally the longer the fork the more the bike is all about descending.0
