    Thanks to all your good selves I finally did it!

    The problem was the topcap sitting to close to the compression nut. So when I turned the topcap it didn't have enough space to pull everything together before hitting the compression nut, does that make any sense?

    So all I did was wind the topcap to the very top and place it in then. Turned the compression nut until tight and did the same with the top cap and I could see the whole unit pull together and it's a solid as a rock now.

    I feel like such an idiot, ahaha.

    Oh and giving it a quick 5 minute ride this morning before work, the clicking has stopped! Whether that's down to greasing the threads or just re-jigging things I don't know...
