Hi guys...
God my new Giant is just WAyyyyyyyyyy too stiff.
Can i get an idea of what pressures should be in my forks and tyres as a guesstimate please ?
new 2011 Giant XTC 29er, running,
Fox F29 RL-11, tapered steerer, QR15, 100mm travel
Rider 88kg kitted out.
I'll have a play with rebound etc later too.
On the ride with jumps/drops i seem to have used 65-70% of viewed available travel.

Yes but my questions were more 29er orinetated as opposed to generic MTB.
I was wondering if 29ers had an optimum style due to different characteristics.Salsa Spearfish 29er

Looking at the Giant... Hmmm yes... I should have checked more earlier and before the race.
Forks are set to approx 12% rider sag... and my rear pressure was in the high 40's.
Hence why the beast was a little on the stiff side.
I say 'are' i mean 'were'... they're now 33psi on the front and rear and 35% sag.Salsa Spearfish 29er
