.....this shop in Whitechapel?

http://www.bicyclemagic.com/

Has it shut down? I bought a chainring from then over the net a few months back but now their website seems to have more or less shut down and the phone number is no longer shown...

Ah yes... Didn't see that! Oh well... Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a 52T and 39T Shimano (or copy) set of chainrings?

Have just order some bits off Rose Bikes, they seem good on prices but only ordered yesterday so not sure on how quick they deliver

That's a shame - just took a wander over and they're definately shut. Bloke outside trying to get his bike back said they went bust this week** :(

PITA as I used to use them to look after any fettling issues that cropped up on my commute, now will have to find somewhere else...

(** he was in contact & had arranged to meet & get his bike back so hopefully all ok for him)

  • Anyone used this company? These chainrings would be fine on a Tiagra drive train wouldn't they? Seems to be the same thing I bought from Bicycle Magic...

Thanks v much... I don't understand the description for the 52T one though, it says

"SHIMANO Tiagra FC-4500 9-speed/double chain whell 52B for 39 teeth" FOR 39 TEETH?? Is it 39 or 52?!

the other one is for 105, I suppose that works with Tiagra though...?

OK just phoned Rose, lovely people, they even speak English which is pretty good for a random bike shop in Germany! These are the right chainrings apparently...

Yeah there really nice people i got lost on the wording for some rims basically what i worked out was that it's the one that fits the bolt patern for the 39t inner ring and you couldn't fit to a triple. and i think if your bolt patern match you can mix amd maxt most shimano from tiagra up sora is a bit messy as i think it has a different chain pick up system but i might be wrong.

Glad you got it sorted but I'll also vouch for bikester. Another German shop with good prices and service.
