Can anyone advise if an 11 speed chainset will run ok with a ten speed chain, cassette and front mech? been offered a chorus for a great price
I'm currently running a compact chainset with a 12-25 and would like to change this to a double with a 12-27(10 spd) just want to be sure it'll index properly and that the front mech will cope with the changes

Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks

Chainset will have the rings a bit closer together than the 10sp one, and the 10sp chain is wider than the 11spd version, so you "may" get chainrub or at worst cjhain pick-up on the outer ring if you have the chain on the inner ring and are using the 12/13 sprockets - but you should avoid these really anyway. Other wise ok, tho changing may be a bit sloppier on the front with the narrower chain in the 10sp mech.

I have been using a Chorus UT 11 chainset with a Chorus 10spd rear mech Never had any problems. 10spd chain works ok.

Same as above poster - been using an 11 speed Chorus UT chainset on 10 speed set-up on my C40 without problems at all.
