Ribble selling these, but I haven't seen anything else about them. Anyone know more?

Have used PR2s and 3s since whenever so I expect I'll buy some for next summer anyway...

Seems to be a confusing number of different PR4 models, with the Comp Service Course being probably the nearest thing to a replacement for the standard PR3.

Looking forward to some reviews and feedback on these!
  • Michelin have discontinued the krylion carbon by name but will still be made under the pro 4 Endurance.

Pro4 service course is the pro3 replacement

Pro4 Comp service and comp limited have a higher tpi (150) while the comp service seems like a upgraded pro4 service course, the limited has reduced puncture protection aimed solely at speed.
  • Cheers all - having read on, I think I'll wait for the higher thead count "Comp" ones to come out.

Or maybe I'll get some Corsa CXs for next year.....

At last someone else noticed the new michelin tyres. Saw them on ribble but couldn't find out much about them, was too afraid to post here in case I got the stock 'use the search function' answer.
  • looks like lots of product renaming so they can charge even more for the same.

Rubbish, they have completely redesigned the compound and the profile of the tyres.

Michellin IMO are the best tyre manufacturer in the world for any tyres - car, bike etc...

Arguably....but they have one of the worst websites:-) None of these new tyres is shown on any of their global sites...

Maybe so, we're still being charged a lot for not a lot of tyre.

It's not just tyres, the price of most, if not all, components have rocketed over the past couple of years.

You must have spent a fortune on tyres, in your exhaustive testing.

the current mtb tyres are not that good and im struggling to remember the last good tyre they produced. i tried the lithion 2's which lasted 3 rides before they were rendered useless by too many cuts. cant argue with their car tyres though.

Think youself lucky, in Oz they are ludicrously expensive - if you order online from Wiggle, Ribble et al, you can have 2 tyres delivered to your front door for the same or less cost than buying 1 tyre from an Oz shop or online site; maybe even with change to spare.

The renaming of the product line as indicated in the post by iesous77 it is all very confusing. I guess we'll get used to it eventually.

If you go to www.yacf.co.uk, there is poster by the name of Kid Jambo who works for michelin and he talks about the tech.diferences between PR3 and PR4. Also some online vids on I think Cycling News. The PR4 uses a different profile and layup.

The ones on my wifes Mazda mx5 were truly awful.

and of course this would explain why I found in my local Decathalon PR3's at 50% discount for "no apparent reason". Glad I only bought 6 tyres, as I'd hate to be stuck on PR3's for long, as they'll be "so last year"...
