What would you recommend would be my first upgrade?

    Nothing until bits wear out Gav, unless something feels wrong or not just right i.e wider bars, shorter stem etc, talk about on Sunday bud.

    Teaching them to spell hydraulic?

    Grips or saddle if you don't like what is fitted

    Pedals which from memory are ineffective moulded pin, get some screw in pin flats or SPD.

    Until then ride it until something needs replacing!

    It is a very balanced bike (better fork than the previous FSRxc Comp) and I'd leave it alone unless you have a a serious problem with it which you feel is holding you back.

    Just wait until stuff breaks or you wear it out - both bound to happen.
    You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
    If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
    If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
