hi all
i am going to venture into the world of road bikes to give the running knees a bit of a rest, and would appreciate you guys advice on the 2 bikes i am looking at
the first is from my lbs;

and the 2nd i have spied on wiggle:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/verenti-rhigos04/
both realistically the same price, im just a bit nervous buying my first bike of the web and it not fitting correctly (im 1m74 inside leg approx 30-31") i am thinking medium for the wiggle bike?
what do yeas think? or would you suggest another bike completly? 800 ish is my limit!

There are lots of good bikes out there within your budget. Nothing wrong with those you shortlisted either. It is important however that you get the right bike fit - not just about size but what feels comfortable to you as different manufacturers have slightly different frame geometries.
On that I would recommend you go to your LBS or an Evans to have a look and try for size. Many LBS will match an internet deal or get close enough to it that the personal service and confidence of getting the right fit and set up makes the little extra you may pay more than great value.
It really is worthwhile even if you can't get the deal you want then you will have a better idea about what bike and size you need to go source it off an internet provider.
For a 30-31 leg I would imagine you would be looking at a 52-54cm frame however it differs by manufacturer in some cases i.e. My Trek Road bike is a 56cm frame yet my mates Ridley Cross Bike which fits me (we are both the same height and inside leg) is a 54cm frame. Just illustrates why it's important to go and try some bikes out.
Whatever you end up with have fun deciding on your final choice and get out there and ride - its great!Trek Madone 5.9

yes i think i might play safe and go for the lbs, think i am probably jumping the gun getting seduced by cardon frames before i even start
sooner i can get on the road and stop looking at bikes the better!0
