3x9 to 2x10....

I'm close to the end of my cassette and am thinking about a move from 3x9 to 2x10 as I'd like to fit a chain guide as its always coming off on a bumpy descent.

I have SRAM x9 now.

Am I correct in thinking that if I replace the shifters, the chain and the cassette I can leave the front and rear derailliers as they are? Or is that just wishful thinking?

    thanks cooldad.

another question.. I'm also presuming I can just change the 3 sprockets at front for 2 new ones and a bash on the same cranks?

Or just remove the big one and fit a bash in it's place.
If you want to fit a bigger ring, make sure it won;t foul anything, and you can shift the front mech enough to clear it.
