While i was in the LBS today i was looking at some of the bikes they have instore, they had a few Land Rover bikes in, and a frame or two hanging up, i asked one of the lads about them and he told me that somebody else makes them under licence with the LR name, i then figured they were pretty crap........
Until i saw the bike at the very end, now i never got a proper look at the spec as i had to leave, but the RRP (yes i know RRP means nothing, owned a retail business for 6.5 years) was an astonishing £4450 (may have been £4250) and it was "reduced" down to around £2250
It looked a quality bit of kit to be honest, i figured i would come home and google these LR bikes, but the only stuff i can find online so far is the cheap £200-£300 stuff.
Anybody have any ideas?
Maybe i should have asked them what model it was

I`m pretty sure it had triple clamp forks and High Roller tyres, its main colour was an off white.
It looked a bit of a downhill tank to be honest!1999 Specialized FSR Elite MAX Backbone.

The top of the range Land Rover bikes were based on the Diamondback DH rigs, I seen them in the flesh at the Land Rover dealer a few years back, no they weren't selling them, but they were promoting them
One had the GBox unit too, not shabby, but just a rebadge of the 2008 DB offering.
They also had the non Gbox DH version on display too, sadly I cannot source a photo of the LR rebadge or the DB without the Gbox, but the photo below gives an idea

Ahh this makes more sense, i saw a gearbox on display in one of the locked cabinets and was wondering what it was from, the bike hanging up probably was the gearbox model, just with the box removed.1999 Specialized FSR Elite MAX Backbone.
