A Cycle Courier, one of Pink's, in serious accident involving an articulated truck at Vauxhall Cross/Albert Embankment

At time of writing don't know what happened or how. The whole area was cordoned off as many of you may be aware. Cyclist, a very experienced guy, has 'serious but not life-threatening' injuries - hopefully we'll know more later.

Phew - heavy day! Be careful out there......

  • Sorry for the duplicate thread guys - I did look but not hard enough obviously - we had a motorcyclist badly injured last night too, up in Colchester, so we're feeling a bit down at Pink today..............

  • That Standard report is a bit premature, maybe wait for an investigation before apportioning blame?
  • Hey Ray, any news on your chaps? Fingers crossed for speedy recovery here.

Post 71 gives some good news on the Vauxhall Cross guy. Hope there's similar news re: the Colchester motorcyclist.

Wishing both a quick recovery, as well as the guy hit by the bus outside the Waldorf.

  • Really chuffed with the interest and kind words about our guys - thank you all. Motorcyclist in Colchester is back home nursing a broken wrist - we hope he'll come back when ready. The cyclist had 7 hours of surgery yesterday - broken pelvis, other leg fractures - looks like he'll be out for a while but he did call his control this morning and said 'I'll be back' - what a guy! His name is Richard. I'm thinking of starting a little collection/fund for him to help him through - more info on that later maybe. These incidents do highlight the dangers of two wheels on the road, especially couriers who are out there for 8-10 hours a day. May we wish you all safe journeys.
