think we might need to narrow it down a bit, mainly as this douche covers his ass by stating that it could be somewhere in the UK in October OR November?! i mean the shetland isles will have snow in about 2 weeks time!

and for all the daily mail lovers out there, this is olf but always fun

Snow's fab, bring it on! Especially now I've got a 1 mile commute  Spike tyres on a rigid mountain bike = great success. We live up a big hill so last year we got absolutely buried, had 2 feet of snow on my car for weeks... Ace.

Brompton?! Pish off! I'm not riding a feckin' clown bike!

It's a road bike, but with room in the frame for slightly wider tyres.

I don't know why they don't make road bikes with a few mm more tyre clearance, would be a lot easier.

is there any other difference apart from clearance and sometimes an extra brake lever on a cx bike?

CX's are starting to have discs, which is good, because road brakes are godawful whenever they get a teensy bit wet. They're supposedly stronger than a road bike too.
