My new ROSE PRO-RS 4400 arrived last night......

66cm frame... Sram Red.... darn thing was going 50kms/hour still in the box !!

Going for a fitting session shortly.... I'm reluctant to get it dirty... tis a thing of beauty.

66cm frame! I suppose you can always sell it on as a field gate to a farmer if you change your mind
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    66cm ??? Christ on a bike, how tall are you ?? I'm 6'2" and ride a 58cm Trek.

Alos, how did you get it with SRAM Red ? The bike, in all of it's guises is only available with SRAM Force.

    Sounds nice............ pics please !

Dont throw the box away - It'll make a nice garden shed.

"Fitting session" sounds like something you have before you buy the bike.

The travellers could move into a box that size.

^^^ Nah that guy only rides a 62cm frame!
  • Not to mention his location, Singapore. He really must look like a giant over there (average height ~5'5"), can't be a native..

perhaps a mis-type and should read 56cm? tbh i wasn't aware that you could get a 66cm frame.

Perhaps. If he did buy such a large bike, he would have brought a Giant! <rim-shot>

Perhaps, but I looked in the Rose web site, and yes, it's available in a 66cm. It also doesn't appear to be available with SRAM Red........ but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Frameset only on a custom build? Or maybe LBS changed the group set. mentioned 66 cm frame cos i never came across one though i imagine only ever looking at evans or halfords has blinkered me. i'd love to see a picture of a bike in this size. to put it into contrast my frames a 47.

    Are you the big show?
  • I've been trying to help my daughter's boyfriend find a 2nd hand bike that will fit him - I calculated that he would need a 66cm frame so if you find it is a bit on the big side ,I may have a buyer. He is 6ft 10ins.

  • Now now lads, I sense a lot of little man's disease in evidence here......

It is indeed a 66cms frame in all its glory. I'm 6'7" and their frame size calculator came out at 66. I spoke with them and they confirmed it when I gave them my measurements, then just to be safe I called back 10 days later and a different guy reconfirmed it.

If I wanted a sporty set up I could have gone with 63, whereas 66 was the more relaxed option. I'm 48 next month so forget the crunched up teenager look!

Sram Red is an option once you choose the bike and then customise it to your wishes. Small premium for the chainset, but the brakes and rear end stay Force. It aint a big issue if you're not Cavendish.

I went for DT Swiss 1850 wheels that look the d's b's. They're designed to go to 110kg riders as opposed to the usual 100kg max for you diddymen.

I'll try to post some pics tonight. Its a very good looking, proportial bike so I'll add a couple next to my wife's Trek 1500 52cm frame then you'll see the difference. Look at the angle and length of the seat tubes, thats the greatest giveaway.

    Later.
    Richard

    PS
The advantage of ROSE is you cut on the middleman's margin so you get a high spec bike for a normal price. I paid no more than 1,600 quid?

Also for the fella with the tall boyfriend, there aren't many places you can go to get a standard bike this big at such a competitive price. (excuse typo...!)

You're a good sport for taking it in your (considerable) stride. :)

I'm no titch at 6' 3" so I'd be interested to see some pics of the bike, with you on it if that's OK.

I may well have little man's disease as I am only 5ft 5 ins. I may also have a touch of homophobia anxiety as I feel the need to remind folks that the 6ft 10 inch guy I'm trying to source a bike for is my daughter's boyfriend, not mine.

Pleased to see that at least one above average size guy has found a bike that fits without compromise. Enjoy the ride and may a perpetual tailwind follow your good fortune.

Don't forget... tall people were once 5'5" as well.
