Hi all,
So, who else had a great time on Saturday?!
Well, apart from the 10.4mile detour anyway... :x
Where we should've turned right coming out of Ewhurst, either the wind blew the arrow-sign round by a very neat 90deg, or someone thought it would be funny to send a load of us the wrong way!
Anyway, my partner & I thought it was a bit weird that we had gone so far without a) getting to any hills, and b) seeing anyone else (until we turned around!)
It was a pain getting back to the course but I did feel slightly proud that I was telling other mistaken cyclists to turn round whilst leading 'the peloton' back to Ewhurst AND reading the map!
I don't mind the extra 35mins as it was only a sportive, but it would be nice to make my 3h43 a 'silver' time of 3h08!
Anyone else make this detour? Do you think we can get the organisers to adjust the times?! :shock:
