I was wondering if anyone has got a small saddle bag will they take a co2 inflator a compact one innertube and tyre levers..

I was pumping up my tyre tonight got about 2 miles out felt a lil low so thought i better check i havent pumped it up for couple of rides give it a few pumps got it nice and firm pulled the pump off and bang took the valve with it and let prob 100 psi out with it.

Hence i want a compact way of carrying innertube inflator and levers.

Continental do a nice little saddlebag but dont think it will take the co2 inflator wanna get rid of the pump dont really need it

    I've got one of these

    Speed%20Seatpack%20Small%20Grey.jpg

    It's small.

And somehow, i've squoze in 1x innertube (In a ziplock bag so it doesn't get damaged if it's in there for a while) 2x park tyre levers, 2x co2 canisters, 1x park multitool and 1x co2 head And it's a SQUEEZE to get all of that in. I'm using all the available space in it. Nothing else will fit.
  • thanks alot i probably wont carry the multi tool so i might save a little space

    Can i just ask

    Is it a small bag
where could i buy that one from
and why do you carry 2 cannisters?

I've got the small one of these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=28821
I keep a tube, levers, multitool, patch kit, phone and a few other odds and sods in there. I'm sure I could squeeze a CO2 canister and regulator in there without too much trouble.

  • I have a large one of the altura bags, have fitted a tube, two tyre levers, two C02 canisters plus adapter, wallet, iphone and keys in it. I have never had to use the C02 canisters so have no idea if 1 or 2 is enough... well worth having!!!

I have the exact same bag and squeeze in :-
    1. A puncture repair kit
    2. A puncture repair kit box with tyre levers in (don't like them but just in case)
    3. A spoke key.
    4. Clasp of Allen keys
    5. A chain tool.
    6. Small long nose pliers

That pretty much fills it / bursts it. I carry a couple of spare tubes in my jersey pockets. My pump is the fly in the ointment for me, it's small but still just too big for the saddle bag so I tend to carry it in my pocket which isn't ideal. Can't bring myself to attach it to the frame. Thinking of one of those converted drinks bottle tool kits as a replacement for the pouch so that everything fits in the one place.

    Cheers

That's very optimistic! Wouldn't want to be without a multitool on a long ride.

My other pet peeve is people spelling lose loose. ie How can I loose weight.
You can't. You're staying fat until you can spell, you moron.

Rant over, now off for my ride.

    Carry on. :D

You could be right. I never used to carry anything believe it or not! Unfortunately all of these items have been added through bitter experience of not having the one thing I needed at a particular time. I would love to streamline it a bit as I am abit OCD about keeping my bike as minimalist as possible.

  • I use a lezyne caddy. Yes a little more expensive, but I have put this through a washing machine AND the tumble dryer half a dozen times. It is good as new. When you get back from a wet ride there is nothing worse than having a dirty pack after you clean your bike.

I have the small model and squeeze in a multi-tool, levers, tube, CO2 valve and 2 canisters. The medium would probably be better, but I carry the rest in jersey pockets. Sorted.

I trust my grammar and punctuation is up to scratch!?

In my Continental bag (carried in my jersey pocket so I don't break The Rules ) I've got an inner tube, 2 x levers, a Lezyne micro repair kit a C02 canister and C02 head. It's a tight squeeze but they all fit in there.
  • I use an ortlieb micro, can squeeze in 2 tubes, multi tool, 2 levers, C02 canister, C02 head & a pair of latex glove.

Granted it might not be the prettiest saddle bag, but it just clips on & off with no fuss & is totally waterproof .
  • For anything up to 60 or 70 miles, when I only need 1 water bottle, I put a spare tube, inflater and multitool in a spare water bottle. Looks neat on the bike and it's airtight so keeps it all in better condition. Too many times I've had kit left in a saddle bag and when I've actually needed it it's gone rusty!
  • im not bothered about punctuation.

I have a pa she should be bothered about it. Anywho to the people who arent obviously pathetic and bullied as children thanks for your help with everything its been a big help much appreciated

I use the Fizik bag that clips under your saddle.

    In there I stuff;

    1 inner tube
    1 CO2 pump with a 2 canisters
    2 tyre levers
    1 multi tool
    1 puncture patch kit
    1 KMC quick link

Also keep a small cable lock inside for the cafe stop. I also take another spare tube in my jersey pocket just in case I p*nct**e twice.

I had to read it twice to notice, but now I see that it was a very timely comment :D

Back on topic, I use a Topeak wedge strap micro, and that has:
    - Spare inner tube
    - 2 tyre levers (thought I wouldn't need these: I did to fix a mate's puncture!)
    - Topeak mini 18+ multitool
    - iPhone
    - tenner
    - keys

Does the job, but like others I've found that larger topeaks can catch your thighs when cycling...
