Help needed with valves/extenders for 60mm carbon wheels

Hello all,
recently via a thread on here I ordered some 60mm carbon wheels.
Having recently come back from holiday I thought I should fit the cassette and fit the tubes and tyres.
Popped the cassette on no problems, but the 60mm tubes I bought do stick through the rim, but not far enough to inflate it
The tubes I bought in anticipation are Continental 60mm valves, and the other ones I have are the 42mm for usual wheels.
What confuses me is this - the LV ones seem to be designed so the top section can screw out of the tube altogether, which I think means I can buy extenders to increase the length?
But I only need 10mm or 20mm at most, so I thought well that's fine, I can use the 42's that I have plenty of, and buy a 40mm extender, job done - however the 42's seem to be fixed and do not have this functionality.....
So can anyone shed any light on what my best route forward is please?
Am I correct in thinking that my best route will be to use the 60mm valve tubes, unscrew the top bit, put an extender in such as:
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/WSPXVE/planet-x-valve-extender
And then am I meant to screw the top of the valve into the extender - is that how it works?
Or what about this one?
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/continental-valve-extensions/
What are my other options, if any??
Quite dissapointed as was keen to get them up and running but hey ho.
Also a bit bizarre that the longer ones have a removable core and the short ones do not, I can't see any mention on the ribble site of a tube being available like the 60's I have.
So am I best to get some kind of extender for the fixed and cheaper 42mm valves, or do I need to get an extender for my small amount of tubes with removable cores?
Would appreciate your input :-)
Cheers
Dan

Specialized do 80mm valves if you don't want to bother, so do Conti if you look.
I though use a Topeak extender with my latex tubes, got mine at Evans (but I have one only 1.5 mils away from me, so its convienient)
I first tried with a brass extender and I didn't get on with it at all; in fact I ended up overnflating two tubes.0 -
Some tubes do seem to have removable cores, others don't
Quick look on Wiggle site shows a fair range of valve lengths, Vittoria do an 80mm one, Zipp do extensions of 27/33/48/74/100mm (use Zipps on my tubs) , SRAM do 33/48/72.
For my tubs it was a case of unscrew the valve and screw the extender onto that but inner tubes may be different, core may need removed ?0
