Garmin Edge 705--cannot delete waypoints

Any advice please?? Edge 705 now has lots of waypoints and I cannot delete them by :
1 just standard delete from device
2. deleting entire gpx file on Garmin memory
3. Delete after removing SD card (which has europe mapping on it.

so slowly building up a mass of waypoints from here at home to down in the Alps and Brittany.

Cannot either find any listing of waypoints under any folder on Garmon memory; I have NO gpx files stored and just 1 x tcx.

Should I eventually try a full system reboot ?? Removing sd card before? or could these watpoints be `buried in sd card` (although they still show without card)

    I have phantom routes on mine, I can't find any way of deleting them either, any help would be appreciated

    that sounds even worse than permanent waypoints...looks like we both need advice!

    It is all very odd :(

    unfortunately though my computer locks up every time I try to open Frank Kinlans pages :? :( , maybe old software

    Waypoints appear to be in Menu/Where to?/Find places/Favourites/My Favourites folder.

    I'm guessing the 'phantom routes' are a collection of waypoints the 705 is trying to make a route out of.

    Selecting delete in the 'Find' screen cleared my 'home' waypoint so that may be a quicker way rather than individually deleting all the waypoints in the 'My Favourites' screen.

    Thanks---checking again I have been confusing waypoints FAVOURITES---which I have successfully cleared---with waypoints RECENT FINDS--which is the mass of info I want to clear out, anyone know how to remove recent finds to make it a manageable folder--especially when cycling and scrolling through :)

    Delete (all) worked for Me. Thanks, No big think to redo the 'Home' waypoint, just goto home & say select current location.
